The Cause Bank will allocate volunteer hours donated from our membership and supporters to local nonprofits doing work in the cause area of POVERTY in two ways: awarding Cause Grants and administering Giving Circles Project.
Cause Grants are awards of time that are "funded" by the collective five-hour contributions of the time our members donate and the volunteers hours our supporters give. Cause Grants are used in one-day service projects that members vote to support. Volunteers work together in big groups to support a nonprofit's initiative to collectively make an impact and donate time in the traditional sense.

Capital Cause's Giving Circles Project (GCP) is a high-impact service program that will connect talented and skilled young professionals to local nonprofits searching for ambitious, educated and service-minded volunteers to participate in short-term, high-impact projects.
Capital Cause will recruit young philanthropist members to sign up in teams of 5 - 7 members. Together each team will work together on short-term projects that range from 35 hours to 60 days to benefit local nonprofits doing important work in our FY12 Cause area - Poverty.
Projects will be posted by Capital Cause every quarter, and members will choose which project aligns most with their interests and talents.
We hope you will join us in launching this program, and we hope some of you will sign up to be part of our INAUGURAL team.
